Define the Quality Criteria That Matter and Apply Them Consistently Across Your Patent Department
Not everyone agrees on what makes a patent "good," and that disagreement becomes a real problem at scale.
In this session, Martin Schweiger, Trademark and Patent Attorney at Schweiger & Partners, introduces the framework he uses to define patent quality in concrete, testable terms, from Premium Economy Class protection through to Litigation-grade patents designed for enforcement and resilience.
He then shows, together with Qthena, how to test a draft against defined criteria using AI, and how those same criteria can be applied consistently across an entire patent team, whether the draft comes from in-house or from outside counsel.
The session also considers where AI-assisted checking is useful, and where professional judgment remains essential.
Attendees will leave with a practical way to define, test and scale patent quality across their own organisation.
