Questel Sharpens Focus on IP Management Technology by Divesting doeLegal to DiliTrust
Questel, a global leader in intellectual property solutions, today announced the divestiture of its subsidiary specializing in Enterprise Legal Management (ELM) and eDiscovery software, doeLegal, to DiliTrust. This strategic move is driven by Questel's decision to focus operations on its successful IP Management Software, and on the full integration of Artificial Intelligence across all IP data and services.
"Divesting doeLegal sharpens our focus on our core IP Management Solutions, tightly integrated with our full range of IP services," stated Charles Besson, CEO of Questel. "Our experience in the ELM market showed limited commercial synergies, prompting this strategic refocus to better meet our IP clients' needs."
Bruce Kuennen, CEO at doeLegal, added, "During its tenure within the Questel group, doeLegal, already a recognized player in the American market, gained significant momentum, notably improving its financial situation and EBITDA. This transition will enable doeLegal to further specialize and adapt its offerings to meet the specific needs of legal executives, which differ from the IP-focused solutions traditionally emphasized by Questel."
Questel has also gained invaluable insights from this relationship, enhancing its capabilities in invoice management, IT security, and connectivity of IPMS solutions.
Yves Garagnon, CEO at DiliTrust, commented on the acquisition: "DiliTrust’s acquisition of doeLegal is part of our strategic initiative to quickly and efficiently penetrate the U.S. market. We highly value the existing management team at doeLegal and see this acquisition as a means to achieve critical size in the global ELM market. Additionally, this move helps balance DiliTrust's model between growth and profitability, aligning with our long-term strategic goals."
The ongoing partnership between Questel and doeLegal will ensure that clients continue to benefit from robust, integrated solutions, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency throughout and beyond the transition period.
