- Jurisdiction Reference Number Customization
Jurisdiction Reference Number Customization
If you have a preferred jurisdiction reference number template you would like to use in your projects, we can now set up this template for you. The reference can consist of numbers, letters, country codes and certain special characters.
Once the template is set up, the automated process will use the project-level reference number, and tailor it to individual jurisdictions. The system will recognize the country code anywhere inside the reference number, replacing it with the codes for your selected filing jurisdictions.
For example, a number such as 12345-WO-PCT-ABC will be converted to 12345-CN-PCT-ABC for China and 12345-EP-PCT-ABC for Europe.
Multiple templates can be set up as well. If your project reference number matches at least one of your templates, the jurisdiction reference numbers will be automatically populated.
The use of the templates is optional. You can also continue using the existing reference number generation process, where the country code is added at the end of the project number.
And lastly, you may choose to edit the automatically populated number for any jurisdiction, or disable automation altogether and enter the numbers manually.
Please reach out to your Questel representative if you have any preferred templates you would like to use. Simply provide examples of your reference numbers and we will convert them into the right format and set up the automated process for you.
