Detailed update suggestion statuses

Orbit Asset benefits from being fully connected to Questel global IP databases. This allows the system to compare the data entered in Orbit Asset with available public records. When the data does not match, the system suggests an update.

Previously, each Asset had a status connected or not connected. We have now expanded these options, to help you better understand why some updates might not be available.

Here is a breakdown of the statuses:

• Connected to global IP database
• Not connected because the asset is not published or we have not found a match in public databases
• Asset has been manually disconnected
• Asset has been recently added and is pending connection
• Will not be connected because this asset is generally not published e.g. provisional patents or EP extensions

Whenever an asset is not connected you can manually connect it from the update suggestions page.
