When creating an estimate where the Source language is not Englisch, the option to use English as a relay or transitional language is now selected by default. In most cases this will ensure the translation rates are available for immediate estimate. It will also provide additional cost savings.
The second option on the list allows you to indicate if you already have an English translation. In this case, the translation cost is calculated based on English as a source language, but the cost to translate into English is not added. If this option is selected, please upload the English translation if you proceed to start a project. This can be done in the Files & Instructions step of the project workflow.
And lastly, you still have the option to translate directly from the original source language. Please note that with this option, the availability of translation rates may be limited for some jurisdictions.
If the “Questel to provide English translation as a source” option is selected in Step 1 of the estimate, you will then see the cost to translate into English in Step 3. This is listed under the Relay Language line.
If, however, your estimate already contains at least one jurisdiction that files in English, no additional Relay Language cost is added.
